Carnahan STEAM Back-to-School Orientation

Carnahan STEAM families are invited to attend Back-to-School Orientation on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

Returning Families: Noon to 1:30 p.m.
New Families: 1:30 to 3 p.m.

During orientation, families can tour the school, complete registration if needed, receive important school information, review uniforms and health requirements, complete technology checks, learn about athletics and clubs, and sign up for family engagement opportunities.

Before Orientation

All families should confirm transportation before orientation. Families who still need transportation assistance should call 314-633-5107 or 314-633-5103, or email SLPSTrans@slps.org as soon as possible.

Students should also be registered in Focus before orientation.

Documents to Bring

New students and families should bring:

• Parent or guardian photo identification
• Proof of address, such as a utility bill or lease agreement
• Student birth certificate
• Any applicable court documents
• Immunization records
• IEP records
• Sports physical, if available

Returning students and families should bring:

• Proof of address
• Student birth certificate
• Sports physical, if available

Required Student Supplies

Families should bring the following supplies to orientation:

• Master Lock 1-7/8-inch black dial combination lock
• Clear pouch large enough for a phone, headphones and other personal devices
• Case-it 3-inch binder with strap
• Plastic dividers with five tabs
• Two 12-count packs of No. 2 pencils
• One 12-count pack of pencil-top erasers
• At least 500 pages of college-ruled filler paper
• At least 200 pages of graph-ruled filler paper

Students should practice using their combination lock before orientation and bring the lock combination for school records.

Uniform Guidelines

Students may wear Carnahan logo or House apparel. Students who are not wearing Carnahan-branded clothing should wear solid white or black tops with solid tan, khaki or black bottoms. Clothing should be appropriate for a respectful, academic environment. Hoodies, ripped clothing, leggings, jeggings, pajamas and sagging are not permitted.

The first day of school is Monday, August 24, 2026, at 7:05 a.m.
